    I think Chelsea only appealed the ban due to the harshness of the penalty, rather than to buy players in January. By no means are Chelsea the first club to “poach” players, but all of a sudden, here’s a one year transfer ban, one year ban on registering new players, and a one year ban on recalling loaned out players among other punishments handed down by FIFA.

    Chelsea is also trying to become self-sufficient financially over the next few years which means the big spending days may be all but over unless we start selling first.

    Court of Arbitration for Sport which is sport’s highest court has just ruled in favour of Chelsea and has ordered the transfer ban to be lifted permanently.
